Journal #2

Friday, September 24, 2004

Here is the Topic for the day. STRESS! Why do we need it?  Physiologists will tell you that some stress in life is good for you, but where does one draw the line.  At what point does stress become bad. I understand that there is good stress and bad stress…Examples…hmm…well, getting married or starting a new job’ those are both really good examples of good stress. As for bad stress…well, finding out your friend is dying.

But again I ask you, where does one draw the line. In the examples that I gave…well those are kind of extreme examples of stress. So when is stress considered too much. Where is the breaking point? Why must we deal with this constant worry about how we will make it through the next day.

I know that I am about to break from the stress of my own life…I am only 18 years old and I already have a semblance of a death sentence over my head…reminding me on a daily basis that I must treasure each moment…for I have no idea what the next day will hold. My account went overdrawn at about the middle of the month…so I am dealing with all the issues that presents. My family is acting so weird right now…my mother crashed emotionally from stress and is well lets just say “a little bit spacey!” I have no boyfriend. I have no time anymore to do the things that I want to do in life…oh and lets top it all off with work…which presents a whole new list of stress. I start college in four days, on top of working full time…Where, might I ask, is the good flipping stress in my life???
